I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. Graduated with MSc in vertebrate zoology at the Faculty of Biology of Sofia University in 1997. In 2004 completed a PhD (Ecology of Ferruginous Duck and Common Pochard during breeding season) at the Central Laboratory of General Ecology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Specialised in waterbird, bird ecology and habitat selection. Since 1989 member and volunteer of the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds/BirdLife Bulgaria. My last postition there was Conservation Director till 2007, while previously worked there for many of the field projects. My professional interests in the field of Nature conservation are related to research and conservation of wetlands and waterbirds. In the period 2007-2010 I worked as Waterbird & Flyway Officer at Wetlands International. Currently I wourk as Scientific Adivsor at BSPB/BirdLife Bulgaria
